Fri~1~--~Sun~10 Aug~20252B10-day snow camp, day trips, skills development Day Trips, Base Camp, skills development 10-day snow camp, skills development and Instructional (8-10 August) at Perisher to coincide with Perisher XC ski week events. 1 August – 10 August 2025 We will set up base camp. People can come any day during the 10 days. There will be some tents available for people to use. Igloo and possible snow cave. For people new to snow camping that have never done ski touring, snow shoes are an option. Each day will have different activities. Ski lessons in cross country ski touring and track skiing, navigation, telemark, snow camping. Catch bus to Perisher with your gear. Some tents provided. Sat~2~--~Mon~4 Aug~20252BTour to Far Bald MountainOvernight ski touringA three day tour starting near Eucumbebe dam and visiting Far Bald Mountain and Boobee hut. A reasonably long first day of about 18km to the Mackeys hut area where we will stay for 2 nights. The trip is timed to follow the forecast snowfalls but some walking is likely due to the low elevation of the starting point and when crossing the Gungarlin River. Skiing with a day pack on Sunday to Far Bald Mountain. Then return from Mackeys hut to Snowy Gap on Monday.

A great week of ski racing and many other activities including mystery coffee tours and a meet and greet with Perisher Historical Society. Highlight of the week is the KAC Classic ski race from Perisher to Charlotte Pass Village with lunch at KAC Lodge and presentation at the Chalet. Mon~4~Aug 20252AThe 2025 KAC Cross Country ClassicCross country ski racingThe 2025 KAC Cross Country Classic The KAC race runs from Perisher to Charlotte Pass (8.5km) through undulating magnificent snow country and is open to skiers in both classic and freestyle Full race details at https://www.snow.org.au/events/278929 ALL RACE ENTRIES MUST BE MADE ONLINE ONLY To enter you must - have a current Snow Australia SnowID. https://www.snow.org.au/rego/start/. This includes snowracer insurance. If you have had one previously, you must activate it annually. - Register for the race and pay a fee https://www.snow.org.au/events/register/278929 - Nominate your racing style. Either Classic (Diagonal stride) or Freestyle (skating). - Collect your bib either the day before or on race day no later than 9.15 am from KAC Alpenhoff Lodge Perisher. Transport back to Perisher can be organised with Charlotte Pass Snow Resort Charlotte Pass Oversnow. Make sure you make your booking early as spots fill up. A discount code can be obtained from the KAC office. See the website details for more info. If you miss out on transport back, you can always ski back to Perisher. Fri~8~--~Sun~10 Aug~2025Beginners and IntermAugust 2025 Beginners/Intermediate Instructional Weekend.Cross country ski touring Beginners/Intermediate IDear prospective ski tourers, do you want to get out on skis, away from the resorts and experience the natural environment of the Australian mountains in winter? Each year we run instructional weekends for people wishing to learn cross country ski touring techniques that will get you started on your ski touring journey. For more the more experienced this weekend is a good opportunity to brush up on skills and find your ski legs. This weekend provides tuition in skiing technique for those a little more advanced beyond beginner level. The techniques taught on these weekends will give you the basic skills to go on other introductory trips members of NSW Nordic Ski Club put on through the season. Accommodation has been booked in Jindabyne for Fri 8 and Saturday 9 August 2025. Cost for the weekend to be confirmed. More details to come. Sat~16~--~Sun~17 Aug~20251ABeginner's Instructional Tour to Four Mile HutThis hut, built in 1937, is the last remaining gold miner's hut in the northern part of the Park, and has been maintained by the club since the mid 80s. Gary Gow was a member who took a particular interest in it and regarded it as an important part of his life. This trip is the club's official touring instructional for beginners, an ideal introduction to overnight touring, to the KNP in winter, the club's history, the huts experience and the Things that go Boomp in the Night. If insufficient snow, then Plan B in the southern part of the park.

(Lift operation at Charlotte Pass depend on snow cover.) Experience the outrageously cooperative spring snow and choose the grade to suit yourself.  Cost for the week $805 for Southern Alps Ski Club (SASC) members and $1025 for SASC non-members, fully catered.  Great value for full board.  You can come for less than the full week, cost pro-rata.  Booking should be made and 50% deposit paid early as it is likely the lodge will be full for both weeks. Kosciuszko National Park Arrive Friday 3 October 2025 Depart Tuesday 7 October 2025 This year we are going camping again for our “End of Season Bash”. Bring your ski gear, camping gear, cameras, fishing gear, hiking boots, bikes, packraft or just yourself, family and friends. A range of activities are planned. Share the fire and food whilst yarning with the local possums around the fire in the evenings. BYO food and bushwalking gear, tents etc. There will be a BBQ for cooking. We’ll have 6 sites booked at Island Bend for 6 people at each site. Email Andrew Stanger at info@crosscountryskiing.org.au if you’re keen to join us. We hope to see you there.
