Sat~20~--~Sun~21 Apr~2024Jubilant The return of 'The Weekender' Four Mile Hut also (Hughes Hut) - Official NPWS OpeningOpen to all club members. The theme is the return of 'The Weekender' with due recognition to Bob Hughes the builder of the original hut. For those who require assistance with walking, transport in and out from the trailhead of Selwyn Trail will be provided on Saturday, time TBA. Vehicle access will be strictly limited and dependent on recognised 4WD qualification. A barbecue lunch will be provided. For members travelling down Friday suggest camping at Three Mile Dam. Erecting of tents for Saturday night camping near Four Mile Hut ruin after official hut opening ceremony is complete for members wishing to stay there. Dinner to be kindly provided by the club.

Sat~6~Jul 20241ANavigation exercises at Pennant HillsLearn how to use a map and compass. Take sightings and triangulate to fix your position. then test your skills with a 3 hour exercise around the Great North Walk. This event is aimed at people new to navigating, but if you want to practice your skills it may suit you as well.
Fri~12~--~Sun~14 Jul~2024Beginners Instructional Weekend.Instruction in skiing technique for beginners. Sunday will be a short trip out from the resort applying skills learnt the day before.

Sat~3~--~Sun~4 Aug~20241ABeginners Touring Instructional. Gary Gow Memorial Trip. This is an introductory tour specifically aimed at beginners. Tuition provided in the skills needed for touring. This is also an introduction to the huts experience and the club's Four Mile connection. If insufficient snow, then Plan B.
Fri~9~--~Sun~11 Aug~2024Intermediate Instructional Weekend.Tuition in skiing technique for those a little more advanced beyond beginner level.
Mon~26~--~Sat~31 Aug~20242B - 3CVictorian AlpsLooking for expressions of interest in a 4 to 5 day multi-day overnight ski trip in the Victorian alps in the week after the Kangaroo Hoppet. Destinations will depend on snow and weather but could be any or a combination of the following - Mt Bogong, Mt Fainter area, Bogong high plains, Mt Loch and Mt Feathertop. Participants need suitable ski equipment to suit the terrain and snow conditions. For example, if we went to Mt Bogong, then AT or Telemark Equipment (with ski crampons/skins) will be necessary. Details to be firmed up in the week before the trip. Meetup/Car Camp will be in Victoria (eg Mt Beauty or Harrietville) on the evening of 25/8 before setting out on 26/8.
